Year: 2012

  • Press-release 2012

FrontWay AB, has today signed a contract as distributor in Sweden, pulp and paper business, for the NIR-Spectrometer “Spektron ™”, developed by Prediktor A/S in Norway.

Together with the already proven simulation software PaperFront®, the Spektron™ will give FrontWay a possibility to make the simulation solutions more operative than ever before.

It has been a long term goal for FrontWay to make the simulation solutions “live and kicking”. The Spektron™ will give us a new entrance in the raw material handling and a possibility to both in short term and long term control the operations of a pulp and paper mill.

The Spektron™ is constructed for operation in rough conditions, IP 65, and has also a powerful mathematical/statistical inbuilt PC. Together with the mill wide solutions FrontWay provides this will be a very unique set up.

This strengthen our offers when comes to energy savings given today, allowing us to provide operative solutions based on a combination of experience, consulting and up and running simulation system solutions.

Prediktor has unique knowlege and experience within combining analytical on-line measurements, laboratory analyses for calibration purposes and other process measurements and combining these, together with mathemathical models describing the correlations between all measurements, for real-time estimation of process parameters. The technology used to combine these types of measurements are termed soft-sensor or Kalman filter technology. www.prediktor.no

FrontWay delivers software and services so that the customer can produce with minimal energy consumption. FrontWay are a major player within development and use of simulation software in Europe, for the pulp and paper industry. FrontWay can deliver all over the mill, from raw material income to finished goods. There is no limitations when comes to components, energy or chemical reactions. We have solutions for chemical pulping, TMP, Waste Paper, Board Machines, Paper Machine and Tissue. www.frontway.se

  • Short “summer”-notes from FrontWay regarding the 2012

Hope You all have had a good summer vacation!

With this short mail we want to pin point to You the present status of our simulation tools and instruments.

From March 2012 we are now representing the Spektron™, NIR-spectrophotometer, within the pulp- and paper area of Sweden. The “really new thing” about the Spektron™, is that it has an automatic calibration function built in. The automatic calibration function allows us to get the system up and running fast and accurate, without any time consuming mathematical calibrations.

Please call us for further info and references.

In August 2012 we will launch our AMB – PaperFront®. This is an Automatic Model Builder that allows you to make a systematic “full picture” solution to “for example” your energy saving procedures.

    The advantages are large, like;

    – Build the model directly from Your CAD or Maintenance system.

    – Bench mark on regular basis, daily/monthly/yearly.

    – Low operating cost.

We have the skill to make the FAT/SAT testing of the instrument system, towards the simulation tool. The advantages are again large, since for a reasonable cost you will get a smother startup and thereby reduced down time.

Discrete event and logistic simulations is in our scope of delivery, and we have references in pulp/paper as well in other areas.

In July 2012, we deployed the first version handling system for our PaperFront®. The version handler keeps control of the model and the corresponding libraries. You will always have the correct version loaded. No more problems with mismatch of libraries. The version handler also works for tailor made/customer created libraries.

We have also made some very unique and what we think impressive large simulation models during 2012. The models have handled complex questions, like long term simulation of mill operations, control system operational issues, bacterial growth and physical modeling. The target is always to reach a situation with “no more questions to ask, all answers given”. No short cuts allowed!

And again we want to keep the contact with you, and we invite you to either participate in our workshops/educations or for further discussions during the rest of 2012.

    Best regards,

    Anders Nilsson
